Job description

USC Online is seeking a Marketing Coordinator to coordinate day-to-day marketing operations for online graduate degree programs. This role requires excellent communication skills, analytical skills, strong social media skills, attention to detail and demonstrated ability to understand market segments and targeting. Experience using a CRM, marketing automation software, social media monitoring software and proficiency in Adobe Suite are highly desired, but not required. Additionally, the successful candidate will also demonstrate the ability to problem solve and think critically, and also be able to adjust to a rapidly changing environment.

USC Online is a center of excellence in online education, with the goal of providing operational capacity to schools in market research, online strategy, program marketing, enrollment and admissions. As we build the team we are looking for collaborative individuals comfortable in a start-up environment and dedicated to producing the highest quality work.

Job Accountabilities:

  • Administer day-to-day marketing support for USC Online.

  • Administer department marketing calendar. Monitors schedules, production and other details to ensure timely completion and quality control of marketing activities.

  • Provide support with email campaigns.

  • Build out and monitor advertising campaigns and schedules. Research new vendors.

  • Provide support on posting and updating content on the website.

  • Update branded documents and presentations as needed; maintains branding and graphic identity guidelines.

  • Coordinate work with contracted vendors, such as graphic designers, photographers, advertising representatives, etc., as assigned, and ensure the timely delivery of goods and/or services.

  • Research and develop content for social media channels, news pages, emails, advertisements, press releases, announcements, etc., as assigned.

  • Assist with communications to potential and existing students.

  • Gather and analyze information. Prepare reports and/or other documentation for management review. Analyze, monitor, and evaluate marketing efforts for effectiveness.

  • Assist with special projects, new program launches and administrative tasks, as needed.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree or an equivalent combination of education, training and experience.

  • Minimum of 2 years of experience.

  • Excellent analytical, written and communication skills are required.

  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment.

  • Ability to make administrative and procedural decisions and judgments.

  • Software knowledge: Marketing automation software, Salesforce, social media scheduling and monitoring software, WordPress, Google Analytics, MS Suite; Adobe Suite proficiency

The hourly rate for this position ranges from $29.96 to $31.70. When extending an offer of employment, the University of Southern California considers factors such as (but not limited to) the scope and responsibilities of the position, the candidate's work experience, education/training, key skills, internal peer equity, federal, state, and local laws, contractual stipulations, grant funding, as well as external market and organizational considerations.

Minimum Education: Bachelor's degree, Combined experience/education as substitute for minimum education
Minimum Experience: 2 years
Minimum Field of Expertise: Marketing, publications, public relations, business administration, communication, advertising or related field experience. Knowledge of the principles and practices of marketing. Demonstrated verbal and written communication skills.
