The Los Angeles Memorial Coliseum is seeking dedicated individuals who are committed to learning about and delivering the needs of a world-class sporting and entertainment venue. Individuals who will excel in these positions will be responsible to handle day-to-day operational tasks while creating a positive environment for our patrons and staff.

As the home for USC Trojans football since 1923, the Coliseum also plays host to concerts, international soccer matches, food festivals, and numerous other events. The Coliseum just completed a $315 million-dollar renovation that has ushered in a new era of service as we continue to strive to be "The Greatest Stadium in the World."

We are seeking a Special Events Manager (Resource Employee) to join our rapidly growing team.

The Opportunity:

The Special Events Manager provides qualified logistical and operational coordination of all aspects of the event day experience in order to enhance operations, and provide effective and efficient service for visitors and staff members at the Los Angeles Memorial Coliseum.

The Accountabilities:

  • Represent the venue as point of contact with the event organizer. Responsibilities include, but are not limited to, holding site visits, providing consultation services to determine the dynamics, and communicating the data accordingly.

  • Available to provide assistance during load-in, event day, and loud-out and serves as the management representative for all event related needs and requests.

  • Review the contract and work order details with event management prior to delivery and ensure the contractual terms for the event are being followed.

  • Prepare and distribute production notes to the appropriate departments and personnel. Communicate any issues or concerns to senior management. Prepare reports and communicate requests or incidents as needed in summary of the event functionality.

  • Document all notable occurrences and incidents that are a potential liability.

  • Provide feedback and instruction as it relates to security, service and operational communication in pre-event briefing and post-event debriefing

  • Implement security related procedures such as office opening and closing routines, standard operating procedures, equipment issue, risk assessment, pre-event briefing, recognition of duress signals and key controls. Coordinate security activities with appropriate agencies. Promotes and maintains building policies, procedures and standards for security awareness and behavior. Maintain knowledge of university's crime prevention and suppression programs and services. Ensure dissemination of security related information to staff.

The hourly rate range for this position is $45.00.
