Job description

Job Title: System Applications Engineer

Location: This position is located in Chandler, AZ or San Jose, CA. It is a hybrid role with 3 days in office and 2 days work from home weekly. This position is NOT open to 100% remote.

Job Responsibility:

Provide systemlevel application support for products implementing USB 2.0/3.x/4, USB TypeC, USB Power Delivery, and DisplayPort (DP and DP Alt Mode).
Act as a technical interface for customers, supporting designin activities, architectural discussions, schematic reviews, and system bringup.
Debug and resolve systemlevel issues related to signal integrity, power delivery negotiation, interoperability, firmware interaction, and standards compliance.
Support USB TypeC and Power Delivery architectures, including Source/Sink, DRP, PPS, EPR, cable considerations, and protection schemes.
Support DisplayPort and DisplayPort Alt Mode over USBC, including link training, MST, HPD behavior, AUX channel operation, and interoperability.
Collaborate with internal teams (silicon design, firmware, validation, and marketing) to develop reference designs, application notes, and customer documentation.
Participate in USBIF and VESA compliance and interoperability testing; analyze failures and recommend corrective actions.
Develop and deliver technical presentations, training sessions, and customer demonstrations.
Provide systemlevel application feedback and customer insights to support future product improvements and definition.

Job Qualification:

A Bachelor's or Master's degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or a related technical field.
Minimum 3-5 years of relevant experience in system applications engineering, hardware design, validation, or customerfacing technical roles.
Handson experience with USB, USBC, USB Power Delivery, and DisplayPort technologies.
Experience with system bringup, boardlevel debugging, and hardwaresoftware interaction.
Solid understanding of highspeed interfaces, power delivery architectures, and compliance requirements.
Strong problemsolving, communication, and customer support skills.
Ability to work effectively with crossfunctional and globally distributed teams.
