Business Development Manager
Summary of Position
It is the responsibility of the Business Development Manager to generate new business opportunities from new customers and contracts or significantly increase business from existing customers. With the use of multimedia and various databases, the Business Development Manager will search for new customers to promote new business for Progressive Alloys Steel Unlimited, an Aero Metals Alliance company.
Responsibilities and Duties
At a minimum, the following is a basic description of typical duties and responsibilities expected in the position of Business Development Manager. These duties are not exhaustive and are subject to change as the needs of the organization require.
  • Increase sales and provide support for the current customer base within the territory assigned, including key, target, and growth accounts.
  • Travel and actively visit companies within assigned territory 75% of working time and inquire about their needs.
  • Discover new opportunities for Inside Sales team.
  • Research potential product line and value add programs.
  • Assist in research, identification, and implementation of new products, customers, and programs to enhance annual profitability.
  • Develop and maintain an internal database for contacts.
  • Chart and track efforts for new business in relation to goals set by management.
  • Contribute to a positive work environment based on teamwork and continuous improvement.
  • Communicate effectively with the Sales Manager, Inside Sales Representatives, and management.
  • Provide the Vice President - General Manager with weekly progress reports in development and implementation of latest programs, business and customers.
Knowledge and Skill Requirements

  • Four-year college degree in business or related area preferred
  • Four years of experience in sales and marketing preferred
