Volleyball Coordinator:
We are looking for an experienced and motivated Youth Volleyball League Coordinator to oversee the 3rd-6th grade youth volleyball league. If you have volleyball experience (either playing or officiating) and are familiar with High School and USA Volleyball standards, this is a great opportunity to make an impact in the development of young athletes while leading and managing the league.
Volleyball Coach:
The West Fargo Park District is seeking enthusiastic and knowledgeable Youth Volleyball League Coaches for our season. If you have a background in volleyball, enjoy working with youth, and want to help create a positive and fun experience, this role is for you!
Position Overview
Coordinator:
As the Youth Volleyball League Coordinator, you will be responsible for organizing league activities, managing coaches, and ensuring smooth operations during practices and games. This role involves preparing equipment, setting up and maintaining the volleyball courts, developing practice plans, and providing support to coaches and players.
Coach:
As a Youth Volleyball League Coach, you will coach players in grades 3-6, helping them develop skills, understand the game, and foster a love for volleyball. You'll run practices and oversee all aspects of practice sessions and game play. League Coordinator will create weekly practices to follow. During matches, you'll also take turns refereeing games with other coaches.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
Coordinator:
  • Prepare and set up equipment for league play and practices (volleyballs, nets set at correct heights, etc.).
  • Manage and communicate with coaches to ensure practices and games are properly organized.
  • Create practice plans and relay them to coaches for effective practice sessions.
  • Supervise and interact with players during practices and games, providing guidance and encouragement.
  • Ensure timely start and finish for all games, adhering to league schedules.
  • Perform light cleanup of the play area and return equipment to storage after practices and games.
  • Maintain a positive, supportive, and fun environment for all participants.
Coach:
  • Practice Coaching: Follow League Coordinator's practice plans to run effective and engaging practice sessions.
  • Game Coaching: Oversee and coach team practices and games, ensuring players receive guidance and encouragement.
  • Refereeing: Take turns refereeing games during matches to ensure fair and organized play.
  • Player Interaction: Provide positive encouragement and guidance, helping players build skills and enjoy the game.

Minimum Qualifications
Coordinator:
  • Age Requirement: Must be 18 years or older.
  • Skills: Strong leadership, organizational, and communication skills; ability to work with youth and coach effectively.
  • Experience: Previous volleyball experience (playing or officiating) and familiarity with High School and USA Volleyball standards are required.
  • Knowledge: A solid understanding of volleyball fundamentals and the ability to create and implement practice plans.
Coach:
  • Volleyball Knowledge: Familiarity with volleyball rules and basic refereeing experience.
  • Coaching Skills: Ability to lead and motivate young athletes in a positive and engaging way.
  • Communication: Strong communication skills for interacting with players, parents, and the League Coordinator.
  • Age Requirement: Must be at least 16 years old.
