Urologist Position

The Queen's Health System is a non-profit healthcare organization with four hospitals, over 70 specialty health care locations, and labs throughout the Pacific region, including Hawai'i. With a rich history of serving the people of Hawai'i, Queen's is the state's largest employer, with over 9,000 caregivers, medical staff and leadership. Queen's is accredited by The Joint Commission and is the only hospital in Hawai'i to achieve Magnet status from the American Nurses Credentialing Center. Our state-of-the-art facilities serve as the major referral center for cancer, cardiovascular disease, neuroscience, orthopedics, surgery, emergency medicine, behavioral health medicine, and is a major teaching hospital. Urology Services provides minimally invasive urologic surgery as well as routine minor urologic surgery. Our Team The support staff consists of Physician Practice Assistants, Patient Service Reps and special procedure technologists. The team works to support the urologists with patient care. This role is integral to providing high-quality care and improving patient outcomes in our Urology specialty.

JOB SUMMARY/RESPONSIBILITIES: Provides urological services for our patients through direct patient care and teaching and supervision of students and residents from the Department of Surgery, John A. Burns School of Medicine and assigned residents from other programs.

RESPONSIBILITIES: Mix of outpatient clinic and inpatient procedures OR block times are on Tuesday and Wednesday Inpatient call coverage required Team that includes 2 Provider Practice Assistants & 1 Shared Patient Service Coordinator Large case variety including a focus on robotic procedures and female urology

SCHEDULE: Full Time - Monday to Friday schedule; 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. Excellent professional growth opportunities State-of-the-art facility and OR

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Graduate of an accredited School of Medicine or EC FMG certification
  • Board certified or board eligible in Urology.
  • Current license to practice medicine in the State of Hawaii.
  • Maintains current BLS certification.
  • During the period of employment, shall be and remain a member of the QMC Medical Staff in good standing with appropriate privileges without restriction.
  • Qualified for an appointment on the faculty of the University of Hawaii John A. Burns School of Medicine.
