Job Opportunity: Academic Medical Dermatologist

The Department of Dermatology at our organization is on the lookout for an academic medical dermatologist who is passionate about patient care and education. Our team, consisting of 17 dermatologists, offers exceptional opportunities for medical dermatologists to engage in practice and teaching at our Medical Center located in the Longwood Medical Area, as well as at our advanced facilities in Chestnut Hill and/or Needham.

About the Department

Our department not only provides comprehensive services in General Dermatology clinics but also features 16 specialized clinics and programs. These include areas such as:

  • Atopic dermatitis
  • Patch testing
  • Hidradenitis suppurativa
  • High-risk dermatology
  • Pigmented lesions and melanoma

These specialized clinics deliver both thorough and multidisciplinary care for complex patient conditions, fostering a rich learning environment for our trainees. Our cosmetic practice offers a wide array of advanced services, including lasers, radiofrequency microneedling, and injectables. Furthermore, we have an on-site pharmacist and an inpatient consult service that provide essential support to both patients and faculty.

Research Opportunities

Our dermatology research program is composed of a dedicated group of researchers focused on clinical and translational research as well as epidemiology, supported by vital core resources. Faculty members are encouraged to initiate projects that can lead to significant contributions and published works.

Academic and Compensation Details

As a prominent teaching hospital affiliated with Harvard Medical School, we serve as a key training site for the Harvard Combined Dermatology Residency Training Program, in addition to providing education for medical students and fellows. Ideal candidates should possess strong clinical skills and a genuine enthusiasm for teaching and mentoring residents. A keen interest in clinical research is highly encouraged. Candidates must be board eligible or certified in Dermatology by the American Board of Dermatology and demonstrate a commitment to the principles of an academic setting.

Appointments as an Instructor, Assistant, or Associate Professor at Harvard Medical School will be based on experience, training, and accomplishments, alongside teaching contributions. Suitable applicants will hold an MD or MD-PhD and Board Certification in Dermatology. The compensation package includes a competitive base salary, an incentive program, and comprehensive benefits.
