SERVER ("BIERHALL STEWARD")
Position Summary
The Steward is responsible for excellent guest experiences through hospitality, teamwork, and the drive to constantly improve his or her surroundings. This position is also responsible for maintaining an extensive working knowledge of Urban Chestnut beer to enhance the guest experience through education and suggestions of beer and food pairings. This position works to provide a clean, safe, and inviting environment for all guests.
Part Time amp; Full Time
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
  • The essential functions include, but are not limited to the following:
  • Exemplify and promote safety in all aspects of the position
  • Adheres to and enforces strict cleaning and sanitization guidelines in relation to CDC and local health department guidelines
  • Abide by federal, state, and local laws regarding the serving of alcohol
  • Promptly welcome and engage guests to create a positive UCBC experience
  • Maintain knowledge of UCBC history and philosophy, products, events, sustainability efforts, and business practices as a resource for informing guests
  • Maintain a clean and organized working area
  • Proactively buss dishes and glassware and clean eating areas
  • Ensure service items are well-stocked
  • Properly pour beer in correct glassware to ensure best possible experience for guests
  • Take food and drink orders accurately and with a positive attitude
  • Deliver orders to the correct tables and address any guest requests and issues with a positive attitude
  • Exhibit accurate and proper cash handling techniques
  • Carry out all opening and/or closing checklist duties during each shift
  • Maintain and clean restrooms throughout shift
  • Wash, dry, and put away clean dishes and glasses
  • Ensure proper utilization of trash, compost, and recycling
  • Utilize downtime to proactively maintain a clean and orderly work environment
  • Other duties as needed to accomplish organizational goals
  • Assist with internal and external festivals and events as needed
  • Serve as an ambassador for the company
Required Certifications
Hepatitis A vaccination record
Minimum Qualifications (Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities)
Above average knowledge of beer styles amp; the brewing process preferred
Excellent oral communication skills
Ability to work under pressure and maintain a positive attitude
At least 2 years of experience serving in the restaurant industry
Must be at least 21 years old
Ability to lift up to 60lbs.
