TITLE: UPS Technician III
LOCATION: Salt Lake City, UT
POSITION SUMMARY:
A UPS Technician III is responsible for startups, certifications, preventative maintenance, and scheduled maintenance for systems related to Uninterruptable Power Supply systems, including Battery Systems.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform the following satisfactorily; other duties may be assigned. Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions.
• Experienced and able to perform UPS replacements and new installations.
• Experienced and able to perform preventative maintenance, trouble diagnosis, routine, and emergency repairs of all types of systems without supervision and with minimal disruption to customer. 
• Install, trouble diagnose, repair, start-up, and commission, all types of UPS systems.   
• Ability to lead jobs with multiple crew members of various skill levels.
• Ability to communicate and work effectively with general contractors, subcontractors, partners, and clients to complete projects on schedule and within budget.  
• Without supervision properly operate all equipment including but not limited to:  
a. UPS systems, Battery systems, PDU’s, ATS, and AC/DC rectifiers. 
• Have excellent written and oral communication skills with co-workers, sales teams, engineering partners, management teams, and clients.  
• Be able to accurately assess human power requirements for maintenance and installation services.  
• Be able to estimate consumables and connectivity parts for project completion.  
• Be able to recognize when crew productivity and safety are jeopardized due to duration of efforts or extreme conditions service crew members are being exposed to.  
• Exercise leadership and good judgement resulting in healthy, harmonious, productive, and happy team performance.  
• Exhibit characteristics that foster great team moral, and spirit of co-operation on job sites and operations center.  
• Show ability to balance multiple needs and challenges from a multitude of directions.  
• Be able to teach learned skills, techniques, strategies, and methods to the next generation. Perform other duties as assigned by supervisor.  
• Regular and reliable attendance is an essential job function.
• Other duties as assigned by Services Management.
QUALIFICATIONS:
To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required. Education/Experience:
• High School Diploma amp; a minimum of 3 to 5 years UPS service experience.
• Must have electrical/mechanical experience relating to UPS systems, DC systems and knowledge of OEM’s such as: Eaton, Mitsubishi, Schneider, APC, GE, Emerson, etc.)
• Clean driving records a must
• Safe operation of department equipment
• Knowledge of or ability to learn basic AC/DC theory, electronic components, and electronic circuitry.
• Complete training on:
1. Use of Digital multimeter for AC and DC diagnostic measurements
2. Use of Amp Clamp and flexible CT in DC and AC measures
3. Use of Phase Rotation Meter, Power Quality Analyzer, IR camera, and Oscilloscope.
4. Show understanding of proper use of:
a. Isolation devices to control available voltage potentials. 
b. Necessary use of Arc-Flash suit and PPE.  
• Show competency in the connections of series, parallel, and series parallel.  
• Understand torque values, torque-mark application, and visual inspection of completed installations.
• Understand and operate Phase Rotation meters, Power Quali
MUST BE US CITIZEN
Computer Skills:
• Proficient knowledge of Microsoft Office including Word and Excel.
Certificates and Licenses:
• OSHA 30-hour certification
• NFPA-70E Safety Training
• Thermography, level 2 or higher
Supervisory Responsibilities:
• No supervisory responsibilities
