Overview

The Supply Chain Intern supports the Materials and Supply Chain teams by assisting with daily operations and continuous improvement initiatives across inventory management, planning, and procurement. This role provides hands-on experience in key supply chain functions, including inventory control, cycle counting, forecasting, scheduling, change management, and cross-functional collaboration.

Working closely with the Purchasing team, the intern will assist with procurement activities, help coordinate the purchase of materials based on business needs, and support efforts to maintain inventory accuracy and operational efficiency. The intern will also participate in inventory variance investigations, root cause analysis, and process improvement projects using data-driven analytical skills.

Designed for students pursuing a degree in Supply Chain Management, Business, Engineering, or a related field, this internship offers valuable exposure to a fast-paced manufacturing environment. Interns will have opportunities to develop practical supply chain knowledge, contribute to meaningful projects, present recommendations to leadership, and shadow experienced professionals to gain a deeper understanding of end-to-end supply chain operations. This position is based in a temperature-controlled manufacturing environment. Must be able to work ON SITE at our Ann Arbor, MI facility a minimum of 25 hours per week. This internship will last 3 months from Sep 2026-Dec 2026. 

Responsibilities
  • As a Material Planning Intern you will: Participate in a carefully designed internship program that will provide you with meaningful work and learning opportunities. You will learn about Navitas, have an opportunity to work with multiple functional groups within Material Planning assisting with data analysis, process improvements and inventory set-ups and a variety of other projects
  • Follow all safety guidelines and operate in a safe manner
  • Physical presence on the job is essential and necessary
  • Other duties as assigned by management
Qualifications

Education and Experience

  • Full-time college enrollment, working towards bachelor's degree in supply chain, operations management, or business administration
  • US Citizen or Lawful Permanent Resident
  • Able to work on site in Ann Arbor, MI

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

  • Ability to work with minimal supervision
  • Working knowledge of personal computers, spreadsheet applications and keyboarding
  • Desire to learn, question, and research solutions to problems
  • Organized with the ability to manage deadlines
  • Good verbal and written communication skills
