Job description

The Electrical Engineer – MVDC is responsible for providing comprehensive technical support for medium‐voltage direct current (MVDC) products and solutions across the full product lifecycle. This includes supporting internal teams—such as sales, supply chain, manufacturing, and aftersales—as well as external customers and partners. Designed for professionals in an “uprising phase” of their career, this role offers significant growth potential within a rapidly emerging technology area.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Provide technical support to internal functions, including sales, supply chain, manufacturing, engineering, and aftersales, to ensure proper application and integration of MVDC equipment and solutions.
  • Respond to technical inquiries from utilities, EPC firms, OEM partners, and field service teams regarding MVDC system performance, electrical design, configuration, installation, and troubleshooting.
  • Review and interpret electrical drawings, single‐line diagrams, schematics, and technical specifications for MVDC systems and associated components.
  • Support the investigation and resolution of technical issues, including root‐cause analysis and development of corrective and preventive actions.
  • Collaborate with engineering and product teams to enhance MVDC product performance, safety, reliability, and manufacturability.
  • Assist in the preparation and update of technical documentation such as specifications, test procedures, design packages, manuals, and technical reports.
  • Provide technical expertise during sales and proposal activities, including equipment sizing, specification compliance evaluations, and clarification of customer requirements.
  • Support supply chain operations by evaluating technical compliance of purchased components, reviewing supplier documentation, and providing engineering input during vendor selection.
  • Assist field service and aftersales personnel during commissioning, troubleshooting, and warranty assessments of MVDC systems.
  • Ensure all engineering activities comply with industry standards, electrical codes, and company policy, including applicable safety requirements.

Minimum Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering or a closely related field.
  • 2 years of experience in MVDC, HVDC, power electronics, electric utility systems, or related power engineering domains.
  • Strong understanding of electrical systems behavior in DC applications, including converters, protection schemes, switchgear, and power electronics.
  • Ability to read and interpret electrical schematics, wiring diagrams, and system-level documentation.
  • Demonstrated analytical, troubleshooting, and communication skills.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience working with electric utilities, EPC firms, power electronics manufacturers, or companies involved in MVDC/HVDC infrastructure.
  • Familiarity with industry standards such as IEC, IEEE, CIGRÉ, and applicable electrical codes.
  • Knowledge of DC system integration, converter technologies (VSC/CSC), DC protection strategies, and grid applications.
  • Prior involvement in cross-functional engineering, manufacturing, or field service support roles.
