Can an employer refuse to hire you if you are not vaccinated?

What does it mean to be unvaccinated?

Being unvaccinated means that an individual has not received one or more recommended vaccinations for certain diseases, such as measles, mumps, COVID-19, or influenza. Unvaccinated people may be at higher risk of contracting and spreading infectious diseases, especially in communities where vaccination rates are low. Reasons for being unvaccinated can include medical exemptions, personal beliefs, or limited access to healthcare. It is important to consult with a healthcare provider to understand the benefits and risks of vaccination.

What types of work environments are available for candidates who must adhere to specific health or vaccination requirements?

Candidates who have specific health or vaccination requirements may find employment in a variety of work environments, depending on company policies and local regulations. Others may provide accommodations in compliance with local laws or company guidelines. Job description

Food & Water Action is working to elect climate champions in Jersey City's December 2nd election. We've endorsed James Solomon and a slate of city council candidates, and are building a field organizing team that will focus on having conversations with voters in Jersey City about the upcoming election. We will prioritize face-to-face interactions with voters through door-to-door canvassing, but may use other voter outreach tactics.
You will join a team of paid canvassers who are committed to persuading undecided voters to support these environmental champions in the December 2nd runoff election. You will also give supporters the motivation to get other voters in their networks to support our endorsed candidates.
This position reports to the New Jersey Field Director. This position requires a schedule of 20 to 40 hours per week, depending on organizational needs. The position is a temporary, independent contractor role and lasts through December 2nd.
Compensation: $25/hr.

Food & Water Watch (FWW) is committed to the health and safety of its staff members. Moreover, FWW, as an organization, promotes science-based policy. FWW requires new staff to provide proof of COVID-19 vaccination, subject to availability, unless they receive an approved religious or medical accommodation and will be required to provide proof of vaccination.
Pay Range: $25 per hour
