Job Summary

Crossroads is always looking for passionate, technically minded creatives who are interested in growing within the world of Disguise, immersive storytelling, and real-time production technology.

The Junior Disguise Programmer role is designed for individuals with some experience or exposure to Disguise media servers (or similar technology), live production, broadcast, theatre, XR, or immersive environments who are eager to continue learning and developing their skills alongside an experienced creative and technical team. Working under the guidance of the Wonderwall Creative Manager and in close collaboration with Technical Artists, Disguise Programmers, and the broader Experience Team, this role supports the development of immersive visual content that enhances the weekend experience at Crossroads. The team creates and operates high-quality video playback, real-time interactive content, and emerging AR/XR experiences on a large LED volume environment. This is a growth-oriented opportunity intended for someone who is highly motivated, collaborative, technically curious, and excited about the future of real-time storytelling in live environments. You'll be part of a forward-thinking team building immersive experiences for one of the most innovative church production environments in the country.

Principal Duties and Responsibilities

  • Assist in programming, configuring, and operating Disguise media servers for asset reviews, previews, rehearsals, and special events.

  • Import, organize, and optimize video content within the Disguise workflow.

  • Support the building and validation of timelines and content to ensure a clean handoff to the Disguise Media Server Operator.

  • Collaborate with creative teams and designers to help implement visual designs accurately.

  • Assist with integration between media servers, lighting, sound, and automation systems using timecode, OSC, MIDI, and other protocols.

  • Troubleshoot and help resolve technical issues during setup, rehearsals, and live shows.

  • Maintain organized project files and support version control workflows on NAS systems using Perforce.

  • Provide on-site and/or remote technical support for productions using Disguise.

  • Stay current with Disguise software updates, hardware developments, and industry best practices.

  • Learn and grow within real-time rendering, XR workflows, and immersive production environments.

Education Requirements

  • High School diploma or equivalent

Experience/Skills Requirements

  • 1-3 years of experience or exposure to Disguise (or similar media server) workflows, live events, theatre, broadcast, concerts, installations, or related production environments.

  • Basic familiarity with Disguise Designer software (or similar technology) and media server workflows.

  • Strong desire to learn and grow within live production and immersive media technology.

  • Basic understanding of video playback, LED workflows, and projection systems.

  • Familiarity with networking concepts (IP, OSC, Art-Net/sACN, SMPTE timecode) is a plus.

  • Strong troubleshooting ability and willingness to learn under pressure.

  • Excellent organizational, communication, and collaboration skills.

  • Self-motivated and effective both independently and within a team environment.

  • Interest or experience with real-time rendering engines such as Unreal Engine, Notch, or TouchDesigner is a plus.

  • Familiarity with lighting consoles, show control systems, or 3D workflows (Blender, Cinema 4D, Maya) is helpful but not required.

  • Basic understanding of audio/video signal flow and production hardware.

Physical Requirements

  • Must be able to walk up to 5 miles while performing duties, including standing, climbing, lifting, pulling, pushing, carrying, reaching, stooping, and crouching.

  • Must be able to lift up to 25 lbs.

Scheduling/Travel Requirements

  • Must be able to work a flexible schedule including weekdays, weekends, and high-impact events at Crossroads.

  • Travel required as needed.
