Job description

What success looks like in this role:

Administer, maintain, and support IBM AIX, UNIX, and Linux server environments
Perform system installations, configurations, patching, and upgrades across AIX and Linux platforms
Manage and support application servers in a secure, high-availability environment
Monitor system performance, troubleshoot issues, and implement corrective actions
Ensure systems are properly secured, including patch management and system hardening
Support backup, recovery, and disaster recovery operations
Collaborate with engineering and infrastructure teams to support system integration and performance optimization
Maintain system documentation, standard operating procedures, and configuration baselines
Participate in on-call rotation and provide support for incident response as needed

You will be successful in this role if you have:

Hands-on experience with IBM AIX administration and UNIX server environments
Strong experience supporting Linux environments (e.g., RHEL, CentOS, or similar)
Experience with system administration in enterprise environments
Familiarity with application server administration (e.g., WebSphere, WebLogic, or similar)
Experience with system monitoring, performance tuning, and troubleshooting
Experience in highly regulated or enterprise environments
Familiarity with automation tools (e.g., shell scripting, Ansible)
Knowledge of virtualization technologies and storage systems

BA/BS degree and 4-6 years' relevant experience OR equivalent combination of education and experience
