Job description
What We Are Looking For
The Senior Coordinator for Student Organization Risk Prevention & Training is responsible for leading the development, delivery, and assessment of risk prevention efforts with a specific focus on student organization-led events. This role plays a critical part in planning and implementing proactive risk management strategies that support safe, compliant, and successful student programming. By equipping student leaders with the knowledge and tools to identify, assess, and mitigate risks, the Senior Coordinator ensures alignment with university policies and legal requirements. The position collaborates closely with campus partners to address key areas such as hazing prevention, event safety planning, emergency preparedness, and responsible decision-making, all while fostering a culture of accountability and care within the student organization community.
A Master's degree and two years of relevant work experience are required. A combination of education and experience will be considered in lieu of the degree requirement.
All applicants must be currently authorized to work in the United States on a full-time basis.
What You Will Do
- Develop and conduct risk prevention training programs for student organization leaders, advisors, and members
- Cover topics such as hazing prevention, alcohol and substance abuse, event safety, emergency preparedness, and legal/ethical considerations
- Utilize diverse training methods, including workshops, online modules, presentations, and interactive activities
- Stay updated on best practices and legal requirements in risk management
- Collaborate with Student Life to conduct regular assessments of training effectiveness
- Assess training effectiveness and implement improvements based on feedback
- Track participation and completion rates for training programs
- Gather and analyze feedback from student organizations and campus stakeholders
- Provide guidance to student organizations on risk management policies and best practices
- Respond to inquiries and concerns regarding risk management
- Collaborate with Student Conduct, Department of Public Safety, Risk Management, and Student Care & Wellbeing on risk-related issues
- Assist in creating and implementing campus-wide risk management policies for student organizations
- Ensure student organizations are aware of and comply with relevant policies
- Support additional initiatives that enhance student organization safety and compliance
- Serves as designated risk liaison for Baylor Chamber of Commerce events, Bear Habitat, and major traditions, in partnership with Spirit & Traditions staff.
- Perform all other duties as assigned to support Baylor's mission
