Job Description:

Our goal is to blend innovation with practical risk management expertise, ensuring that we not only meet but exceed the evolving needs of our stakeholders in an ever-changing landscape.

This position offers an exciting opportunity for the Risk Analyst to play a critical role on Sun Life's Corporate Risk Operations (CROps) team.The Risk Analyst will work with Corporate Risk partners and Product Owners in advancing risk services initiatives aimed at increasing both efficiency and effectiveness.

What will you do?

Enterprise and Operational Risk Reporting Framework

  • Assist in the development and maintenance of Enterprise and Operational Risk Reporting Framework

  • Consult on risk reporting requirements and streamlining opportunities; assist in the design and implementation of operational risk reporting solutions

  • Prepare risk data and apply automation, analytics software and tools to inform process owners

Risk Policies Lifecycle Management and Governance

  • Assist in managing risk policies lifecycle, including the preparation of reports to senior management and the Board on policy compliance status

1st line (1A and 1B) Corporate Risk Management

  • Assist with 1st line operational risk management tasks (risk assessments, RCSA, BEQ, PNC, TPRM, ORE reporting, KRI management)

  • Support Corporate Risk Business Continuity and Crisis Management activities

Risk Controls Management

  • Conduct risk control testing and monitoring (RDARR, Segregated Fund, Operational Risk EaR); maintain and update risk control documentation and matrices

What do you need to succeed?

  • 2 to 3 years of experience in a risk management or process optimization role

  • Advanced time management and organizational skills

  • Excellent communication skills (written and oral)

  • Results oriented team player

  • Strong attention to detail

  • Willingness to learn

  • Experience with Microsoft Office Suite of applications (Word, PowerPoint, Excel, Outlook).

Preferred:

  • University degree or equivalent in Business, Management, Accounting, Engineering is an asset

  • Experience with Microsoft SharePoint and Tableau is an asset

  • Experience in process mapping as well as identification and assessment of processes is an asset.

  • Experience completing and summarizing market research is an asset

The Base Pay range is for the primary location for which the job is posted. It may vary depending on the work location of the successful candidate or other factors.
