Job Description:
The Coordinator of Field Placements and Certification manages and supports all aspects of the student teaching experience within the School of Education's Educator Preparation Programs (EPP). This role serves as a critical link among candidates, school partners, faculty, and state certification agencies to ensure high-quality placements align with program standards, accreditation requirements, and state regulations, while also providing responsive support to candidates and stakeholders throughout the certification process. This role is responsible for ensuring that placements for all candidates adhere to state, district, and Manhattanville University regulations and policies.
Supervisory Responsibilities:

Duties/Responsibilities:
โ€ข Coordinate and assign candidates to appropriate field placements based on program requirements and candidate needs
โ€ข Develop, maintain, and strengthen partnerships with PK-12 schools and districts to secure diverse, high-quality placement sites
โ€ข Ensure placements are in compliance with state, institutional, and accreditation standards (e.g., CAEP or state equivalents)
โ€ข Serve as the primary liaison between the EPP and school-based partners, including principals, cooperating teachers, and district administrators
โ€ข Maintain accurate placement records and documentation
โ€ข Provide clear, timely communication to candidates regarding placement and certification processes
โ€ข Monitor placement quality and serve as a point of contact for troubleshooting candidate and partner concerns
โ€ข Collaborate with internal departments (advising, registrar, faculty, etc.) to support candidate success
Required Skills/Abilities:
โ€ข Ability to work successfully with SOE undergraduate and graduate teacher education students, external school district personnel, and university faculty and staff
โ€ข Strong oral and written communication skills, organizational/management skills, interpersonal skills, and project and process management skills
โ€ข Ability to manage multiple priorities and maintain detailed records; customer service oriented
Qualifications:
Education:
โ€ข Bachelor's degree in education and/or 5+ years' experience working in PK-12 education or educator preparation programs
Experience:
โ€ข P-12 school and/or higher education administrative experience
โ€ข Communicating with school- and district-level leaders
โ€ข Knowledge of NYS teacher certification/licensure requirements and processes
โ€ข Familiarity with accreditation standards (e.g., CAEP or state agencies)
โ€ข Experience working with data systems or student information systems
Physical Requirements:
โ€ข Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
Hours Expectation:
Full-time hybrid, 35 hours per week
