Job Summary:

Manage the Environmental, Health and Safety (EHS) aspects of Lancaster operations to ensure compliance with Federal, State and local regulations and conformance with Arconic’s EHS Policy. Champion a culture that is aligned with Company EHS goals and objectives, with continuous improvement in plant incidents, with reductions in frequency as well as severity.  A valued member of the Plant Lead Team in driving overall business strategy achievement.
 

In this role, you will:
  • Providing focus, direction and technical expertise for the development of proactive EHS plans that are consistent with Arconic’s Corporate EHS Policy, vision and values and in compliance with local, State and Federal regulations.
  • Providing communication and training to local plant management that will ensure all levels of plant personnel understanding their roles and functions for identifying and resolving EHS issues, complying with EHS regulations, and minimizing civil and criminal exposures of the plant, business unit, and Corporate personnel for plant EHS events and activities.
  • Maintaining awareness and pro-actively influencing emerging and existing EHS laws/regulations which may impact plant operation.  Negotiating environmental permits that reflect cost effective process design, reasonable operating constraints, and are consistent with Corporate environmental policy and regulatory requirements.
  • Defining, developing and maintaining appropriate studies, programs, and databases that will provide Plant and Corporate management with pertinent knowledge of EHS impact and the basis for preventive/corrective action.
  • Preparing and submitting in a timely fashion all required reports, documents, samples and data required by agencies to meet regulatory compliance obligations, including reports for signature by the Director of Operations.
  • Representing the plant on EHS matters as appropriate while maintaining cordial and credible relationships with local, State and Federal legislative/regulatory agencies, local environmental interest groups and employees.
  • Providing administration and/or financial direction related to all plant employees, and providing either directly or through consultants critical 
  • Plant Security reports up through the EHS manager.  Plant security is responsible for coordinating all incoming/outgoing traffic, security rounds, and main point of contact for alarms and reaction plans.
  • Medical department and staff report to the EHS manager.  Ensure proper workers compensation case management in compliance with OSHA recordkeeping standrds.
  • Ensure the environmental management systems are suitable to the needs of the business and are effective and efficient enough to ensure our products are produced with minimal environmental impact.
  • Define the environmental strategy and policy direction creating and implementing proactive solutions in order to assist with the achievement of the business objectives;
  • Support a culture of continuous improvement;
  • Ensure environmental compliance and ISO 14001 standards are applied and met across all operations and shifts;

  • Bachelors degree an accredited university. 

  • 5 years leadership experience in the Environmental, Health or Safety field   

Preferred Qualifications 
 

  • Bachelors degree in Environmental, Health and/or Safety degree, strongly prefer Masters
  • 3 years of leading an EHS team in heavy industrial setting
