Job Description

The PRN Registered Nurse is responsible for the coordination and supervision of the direct patient care and program implementation for residents/patients in the acute care and residential programs. Assesses the patients/residents needs and coordinates/implements the delivery of quality nursing care, as prescribed by the Treatment Team / Physician. Provides safety and crisis management for the patient populations, and assures a safe and therapeutic environment.

Qualifications

Qualifications:

Requirements: Knowledge and experience of nursing care and interventions with psychiatric patients. Knowledgeable of the psychotropic medications, potential side effects, and psychiatric diagnoses. Ability to direct others in the delivery of services, organize multiple tasks at one time, and problem solve situations under a fast paced environment. Ability to safely implement special treatment procedures. Ability to delegate responsibility to others and assure completion of shift duties. Skill in developing therapeutic relationships with clients of all ages, and work as a member of a treatment team.

Experience/Education: Graduate of an accredited school of nursing. Previous experience in an inpatient psychiatric setting is preferred. Minimum one-year inpatient psychiatric nursing experience is preferred for PRN Status. Current Colorado Registered Nurse (orCompact Licensure)license is required. Some positions may require a valid Colorado Driver's license. CPR certification is also required.
