POSITION SUMMARY:

The Director of Business Development oversees the provision of Sales, Marketing, and Customer Service activities within the Marketing Department. The Director of Business Development is responsible for achieving the desired utilization of the organizationโ€™s continuum of care through the effective application of marketing principles and methods. As a member of the facility management team, the Director of Business Development is actively involved in discussions related to a wide variety of facility issues including, but not limited to, strategic planning, potential growth opportunities, future projects, changing in programing/protocols, recruitment, and retention. The Director of Business Development is responsible for the facilityโ€™s strategic marketing plan, enhancing the facilityโ€™s brand/image, management of all sales and business development activities and maintaining an active and productive working relationship with internal departments and communicates issues or potential problems pro-actively, especially with CEO and Director of Admissions/Intake.

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:
  • Oversee the development and growth of profitable new business opportunities. Develop and implement marketing strategies to assist the facility in meeting business objectives.
  • Serves as the liaison, under the direction of the CEO between the facility and payer entities and in a manner consistent with corporate expectations.
  • Make contacts with referral sources and establishes appropriate professional relationships with potential and current referral sources. The Director of Business Development is expected to maintain a personal โ€œbook of businessโ€ and make face-to-face field-based contacts weekly, exclusive of field coaching ride-a-longs.
  • Strategically analyzes and designates target markets for account managers and territory/account assignments, considering the strengths and weaknesses of each account manager. Ensure that expertise and personal style of team members are insightfully matched to prospective referral sources.
  • Maintains a general working knowledge of the target markets utilized for referrals, as well as comprehensive knowledge of the status of specific target markets.
  • Responsible for hiring, on-boarding, and promotions for all staff within the team.

Qualifications

Education: Bachelorโ€™s Degree in Marketing, Business Administration, or related field is required; Master's Degree preferred. Experience may be evaluated on a case-by-case basis in lieu of a degree.

Experience: Minimum of 3 yearsโ€™ experience in business development for hospitals, physicians or other medical services. Previous work in behavioral health preferred.

Additional Requirements: Must have a valid Driver's License
