United for Schools Site Coordinator – Wilson Middle School

United Way Quad Cities is looking for a relationship-builder, problem-solver, and student advocate to serve as our United for Schools Site Coordinator at Wilson Middle School in Moline.

In this role, you’ll work right inside the school, connecting students and families with the people, programs, resources, and opportunities they need to succeed. You’ll build strong relationships with students, school staff, families, community organizations, businesses, volunteers, and other partners - all working toward one goal: helping students thrive.

About United for Schools

United for Schools is United Way Quad Cities’ coordinated, place-based approach to supporting students and families by aligning schools, nonprofits, and community partners around shared goals.

Working in partnership with Moline-Coal Valley School District and using the Communities In Schools (CIS) model, the Site Coordinator brings together school and community resources to provide integrated student supports. The work focuses on the whole student including attendance, academics, behavior, family engagement, and access to resources and experiences.

What You’ll Do

Be a trusted presence at Wilson Middle School.
Build strong relationships with students, families, teachers, administrators, and school staff and become a key partner in helping students succeed.

Connect students with the right support.
Maintain a student caseload, assess individual needs, develop student support plans, and coordinate services and interventions designed to improve attendance, academics, behavior, engagement, and overall success.

Bring the community into the school.
Develop partnerships with nonprofits, businesses, faith-based organizations, volunteers, and service providers to bring meaningful resources and opportunities to students and families.

Lead the Communities In Schools model.
Coordinate the annual school needs assessment and develop and implement a comprehensive school support plan that includes school-wide, small-group, and individualized student supports.

Engage families.
Use effective family-engagement strategies to strengthen relationships between families and the school and increase parent and caregiver involvement.

Use data to drive results.
Track student and program outcomes, including attendance, academic progress, behavior, family engagement, and program effectiveness. Use what you learn to adjust supports and strengthen results.

Coordinate programs and volunteers.
Help bring United Way education initiatives and community resources into the school while recruiting, orienting, and supporting volunteers and service providers.

Tell the story of impact.
Prepare reports and share progress, accomplishments, and outcomes with school leaders, United Way, volunteers, investors, and community partners.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in education, social work, human services, community engagement, or a related field, or equivalent relevant work experience.
• Experience coordinating programs, services, partnerships, or collaborative initiatives.
• Demonstrated ability to build strong relationships with students, families, school staff, and community partners.
• Strong organizational, communication, and problem-solving skills.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
• Valid driver’s license, automobile insurance, and reliable transportation.
