United Ag & Turf NE is looking for a Field Service Technician that is responsible for repairing and maintaining electric, diesel and gasoline industrial, construction and forestry equipment generally independently and outside the actual conformities of the shop.? Supports the Service department in a professional, safe & timely manner.


What You’ll Do

  • Reads job order and observes and listens to equipment in operation to determine malfunction and plans work procedures.
  • Installs fuel injection nozzles and pumps, changes or recharges batteries, and replaces transmissions, hydraulic systems and component parts.
  • Examines protective guards, loose bolts, and specified safety devices on equipment
  • Fabricate special lifting or towing attachments, hydraulic systems, shields, or other devices according to blueprints or schematic drawings.
  • Remove, replace, and repair tires, undercarriages, and Agricultural equipment attachments.
  • Provide a detailed and legible description of work performed onto work orders.
  • Maintain and cares for the shop tools and equipment.
  • Maintain a clean work area and perform miscellaneous housekeeping duties associated with the job.
  • Ensure work is performed safely and safe work procedures are followed throughout the department.
  • Read schematics denoting operating specifications for unit or component and type of evaluation required.
  • Tests unit for conformance with operating requirements such as specified horsepower and lifting performance.
  • Help ensure that our new and used whole goods are in good working conditions
  • Examines protective guards, loose bolts, and specified safety devices on equipment and makes adjustments when necessary
  • Fabricate special lifting or towing attachments, hydraulic systems, shields or other devices according to blueprints or schematic drawings.
  • Maintain assigned service vehicle in areas of cleanliness, daily maintenance and inspections.
  • Comply with all state laws while operating a company vehicle.
Requirements:

  • Able to work a varying work schedule/shift and be flexible to respond to after-hour calls

Preferred

  • Associates degree (A. A.) or equivalent from two-year college or technical school
  • A minimum of 5 years of related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
