A Lead Merchandiser helps train, develop and evaluate a team of Merchandisers and schedules the team to meet business demands. Lead Merchandisers perform merchandising activities and construct displays of United Distributors' products in retail accounts as requested by the sales team or retail customers. Lead Merchandisers are responsible for product rotation, stocking of product, display presentation, display execution, and installation of point-of-sale displays. Lead Merchandisers may be required to expedite product delivery as requested by the United management team.

  • Must be 21 years or older
  • High school or vocational school diploma or GED equivalent required
  • Bachelor's degree or Associate's degree from an accredited college or university; or technical school preferred
  • Valid driver's license in the applicable state
  • State minimum auto-liability insurance
  • Acceptable driving record
  • Ability to maintain these minimum administrative driving requirements throughout employment

Responsibilities

  • Maintain merchandising standards within a designated geographic are
  • Assist Territory Manager with training, retaining, evaluating and developing merchandising team members
  • Supervise the daily sales and merchandising activities
  • Schedule team members to meet the demands of the business
  • Visit accounts to monitor adherence to merchandising standards
  • Assist sales team with maintaining positive relationships with retail customers
  • Perform merchandising and stocking activities within an assigned territory
  • Ensure all company products are properly displayed
  • Complete stock rotations, shelf resets and backroom duties as needed
  • Drive to assigned points
  • Install point-of-sale materials as directed
  • Expedite delivery of product
  • Perform other duties as assigned

  • Able to frequently down stack and relocate large amounts of product weighing 50-65 lbs
  • Some work in refrigerated area, with some overhead lifting required
  • Able to frequently climb or balance, stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl
  • Able to learn and maintain knowledge of company and products
