Location: ChicagoCore Purpose:

The core purpose of a Senior Cloud Architect is to design, implement, and manage an organization's cloud computing strategy. This includes cloud adoption plans, Cloud application design, management, and monitoring. Senior Cloud Architects ensure cloud environments are secure, scalable, and reliable, aligning the cloud infrastructure with business goals and technological requirements, thus enabling digital transformation and enhancing operational efficiency.

Responsibilities:
  • Architecting and implementing cloud solutions tailored to client needs, focusing on scalability, reliability, security, and performance, utilizing the latest in cloud technologies.
  • Developing and leading a comprehensive cloud strategy, selecting appropriate cloud technologies and designing cloud architecture to align with business goals and processes.
  • Ensuring all cloud solutions comply with the latest security guidelines and regulations, working closely with IT security teams to safeguard data and infrastructure.
  • Promoting the integration of cloud technologies with existing systems by collaborating with cross-functional teams, ensuring seamless operations and system coherence.
  • Keeping up-to-date on emerging trends, technologies, and best practices in the cloud computing space to foster innovation and maintain competitive advantage.
Qualifications:
  • A Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related technical field demonstrates strong foundational knowledge.
  • A minimum of 5 years of experience in cloud architecture, evidenced by a portfolio of successful implementations, highlighting skills in cloud services design, deployment, and optimization.
  • Certifications in leading cloud platforms such as AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud Platform, showcasing expertise in multiple cloud environments.
  • Deep understanding of cloud computing service models (IaaS, PaaS, SaaS) and extensive experience designing and migrating cloud applications.
  • Proficiency in programming languages relevant to cloud computing (such as Java, and Python) and in implementing DevOps practices and tools (like CI/CD pipelines, Kubernetes, and Docker), demonstrating technical versatility.
  • Exceptional problem-solving abilities and the capacity to work effectively in dynamic, challenging environments, coupled with strong communication and leadership skills, capable of leading project teams and collaborating with stakeholders.
