KBR provides full‑stream base operations support to Naval Support Facility Diego Garcia, a remote location in the British Indian Ocean Territory. Our robust supply chain ensures on‑time delivery of mission‑critical supplies, and our team conducts essential port and airfield operations in this geographically complex environment. The KBR team is over 1,000 people strong, providing not only life support services such as water treatment, electricity, and telecom/antenna maintenance, but also quality of life services like Morale, Welfare, and Recreation (MWR) and an award‑winning dining facility.

Job Summary

KBR is seeking a highly skilled Senior Network Engineer to join our team in support of mission‑critical network infrastructure operations. This role involves hands‑on network design, implementation, maintenance, and incident response in a high‑tempo operational environment. The ideal candidate will have in‑depth technical knowledge and the ability to lead network integration and security initiatives. Minimum 5 years of experience with large‑scale Cisco‑based WAN/LAN environments.

Roles and Responsibilities
  • Provide incident response support by analyzing, blocking, and remediating network/system threats.
  • Correlate firewall logs, system audit logs, and antivirus postures to identify and address security threats.
  • Implement recommendations and solutions for routers, firewalls, dial‑up, and internet connectivity issues.
  • Perform vulnerability management and ensure compliance with security alerts.
  • Configure and maintain network infrastructure including web servers, routers, and switches.
  • Audit and assess current network and infrastructure processes, recommending improvements aligned with best practices.
  • Install, configure, and maintain UNIX/Linux systems.
  • Evaluate, recommend, and support LAN infrastructure and topology.
  • Design network architecture and coordinate full network integration efforts.
  • Oversee and support hardware installation and application software deployment.
  • Configure routing protocols and provide user‑level software and hardware familiarization training.
  • Conduct site surveys and provide technical assistance for fiber‑optic installation and LAN connectivity.
  • Troubleshoot major network nodes and ensure system reliability and performance.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
Basic Qualifications
  • Must be a US Citizen
  • Hold an Active Secret Clearance
  • Strong knowledge of network capacity planning, security principles, and best practices.
  • Proven ability to lead technical teams and projects, implementing infrastructure and security standards.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook).
  • Ability to perform effectively in high‑pressure environments.
  • Excellent communication skills (oral and written) for collaboration with clients, stakeholders, and senior management.
  • Valid driver’s license (Manual and Automatic Transmission).
  • Must pass overseas medical screening and be in good health.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Education: Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or a related field; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Certifications: Must meet DoD 8570.1M IAT Level II requirements. One or more of the following certifications: Security+, GSEC, SCNP, or SSCP.
  • Experience: Proven experience working with Cisco routers, Switches, fiber modems, and subnetting is needed.
  • Proven experience configuring and troubleshooting security configuration issues with MS Exchange, WWW, DNS, and NT Domain Controllers are required.
