This job requires traveling across the greater Cincinnati and Dayton areas (sites will vary based on the job)
HVAC Sheetmetal Journeyman
Feldkamp Enterprises, Inc, a Marsden Holding Company, is a Non-Union Mechanical Contractor seeking experienced commercial Sheetmetal Journeyman with proven experience in large-scale commercial construction. The ideal candidate will be responsible for fabricating, assembling, and installing HVAC duct systems, equipment, and related components according to drawings, specifications, and industry standards. You will work as part of a commercial HVAC installation team to ensure high-quality workmanship, jobsite safety, and on-time project completion.
Under the supervision of a Field Foreman, the Sheetmetal Journeyman is responsible for the prepping for, and installation of prefabricated commercial HVAC ductwork.
Key Responsibilities:
  • Install commercial HVAC ductwork, including rectangular, spiral, round, and specialty metal systems.
  • Fabricate sheet metal components using shears, brakes, and other fabrication tools as needed.
  • Install hangers, supports, and equipment following engineered plans and mechanical drawings.
  • Set rooftop units, VAV boxes, air handlers, and other HVAC equipment.
  • Seal ducts, test airflow, and ensure systems meet quality and performance standards.
  • Work with other trades to coordinate installations and avoid conflicts.
  • Read and interpret blueprints, mechanical drawings, and specifications.
  • Maintain a safe, clean, and organized work area in compliance with company and OSHA standards.
  • Train and assist apprentices or junior installers as needed.

Qualifications:
  • 3+ years of commercial HVAC sheet metal installation experience required.
  • OSHA 10 or OSHA 30 certification.
  • Strong knowledge of HVAC duct systems, fabrication techniques, and installation standards.
  • Ability to read blueprints and shop drawings to determine location of HVAC ductwork placement.
  • Assemble HVAC ductwork pieces for installation at the jobsite, as necessary.
  • Place hangers and supports for HVAC duct.
  • Proficiency with sheet metal tools (snips, brakes, plasma cutters, drills, etc.).
  • Ability to lift heavy materials, work at heights, and perform physical demanding tasks.
  • Ability to work from heights.
  • Excellent communication, teamwork, and problem-solving skills.
  • Valid driver's license and reliable transportation.
  • HVAC Journeyman License is a plus.

Work Schedule and Benefits:
  • Full-time, non-exempt, 40 hours/week (overtime may be required during heavy season)
  • Start times vary by location. Typical workdays start at either 6:00am, 6:30am or 7:00am and ends at 2:30pm, 3:00pm or 3:30pm respectively.
  • Wages are competitive and based on experience and certifications.
