Job description

The HVAC Apprentice will assist with installing, and maintaining heating, ventilation, air conditioning, and boiler systems. Job Duties and Responsibilities:
• Assist with HVAC service and installations including testing equipment, mounting equipment, performing diagnosis, adjusting refrigerant, and wiring controls.
• Collaborate with HVAC Service Technicians to run service and installation jobs.
• Assist in replacing, repairing and installing HVAC and refrigeration units.
• Power wash HVAC equipment units.
• Run performance maintenance calls.
• Other duties as assigned.
Required Education/Experience:
High school diploma or equivalent and enrolled in Apprenticeship program.
Competencies:
• Ability to communicate with internal team and customers.
• Ability to follow written and verbal instructions.
• Ability to use hand and power tools.
Union Position: This is a union role, and candidates must be eligible to join the applicable union
Physical Demands
Must be physically able to operate a variety of machinery and equipment including electronic and diagnostic tools, recovery equipment, and various other HVAC equipment. Must be able to use body members to work, move or carry objects or materials. This position requires:? stooping, kneeling, crouching, climbing, crawling, reaching, standing, walking, pushing, pulling, lifting, grasping, feeling, seeing, talking, hearing, and repetitive motions. Must be able to exert up to 50 pounds of force occasionally, and/or up to 20 pounds of force frequently. Physical demand requirements are at levels of those of medium work.
Work Environment
This job operates primarily alone on HVAC and boiler equipment in all environments, which includes extreme cold or heat depending on the time of year. Vehicles are used as the base of operations.
