Join the CTCU team! Community Trust Credit Union (CTCU) is looking for a Teller (Member Experience Representative I) with customer service and sales backgrounds to work full-time at our Grayslake branch. To help us provide the amazing service our members expect, we also require our employees to be available to work at either of our other locations, including Lake Villa, Grayslake, or Grand Hunt Center. We are looking for individuals, just like you, to be available Monday through Friday from 8:30am to 5:30pm and 8:30am to 1:30pm on Saturdays. Please note that Saturday availability is required for this position. Our full-time employees usually work about 38 to 40 hours per week.
Teller (Member Experience Representative I) Qualifications and Experience:
The Teller (Member Experience Representative I) is responsible for helping members with their in-person financial transactions, including handling cash and other negotiable instruments, while delivering service that aligns with credit union standards. Manage the sales and service of all credit union products and services, with an emphasis on fostering relationships, enhancing member loyalty, and increasing wallet share.
Basic Expectations for Teller (Member Experience Representative I):
  • Accurately handle financial transactions such as deposits, withdrawals, check cashing, and loan payments. Issue money orders, redeem savings bonds, and process wire transfer requests. Transfer funds between member accounts as instructed, ensuring adherence to credit union service standards. Balance cash drawer, negotiables, and daily transactions.
  • Deliver outstanding member service by addressing inquiries, resolving issues, and assisting with financial needs. This includes, but is not limited to, opening and closing savings accounts and certificates of deposit, managing safe deposit box access, and processing check orders and stop payments.   • Promote and recommend credit union products and services to members.

Some of the things we look for in a Teller (Member Experience Representative I) are:
  • Able to communicate effectively via multiple channels (for example, in person, phone, written via email/chat, and video). Bilingual in Spanish and English is a great plus!
  • Ability to provide top notch service with every member interaction, including the ability to communicate promotions effectively.
  • Previous sales experience and proven success in this environment.
  • One to twelve months of similar or related experience.
  • A high school education or GED.
  • Ability to navigate/operate a PC in a Windows based system with ease.

Compensation & Benefits:
Budgeted starting hourly rate: $16.50/hour. This position is eligible for a sales-based incentive.

  • Matching Contributions after 1000 hours of service, 21 years of age and six months of employment. You may begin your contribution on the first pay period of the calendar quarter after one full month of employment. Entry is quarterly.
  • Safe Harbor contributions. CTCU provides every eligible employee a contribution of 3% of compensation. In order to participate in the employer contributions under Safe Harbor, you must be 21 years of age, have 12 months of service and work at least 1,000 hours during that 12 months. Safe Harbor funds are 100% vested and employees who have met eligibility requirements are eligible to receive the Safe Harbor contribution by completing one hour of service. Safe Harbor entry is semi-annually.
