Bechtel Construction Company (BCC) delivers projects across North America in partnership with the North America’s Building Trades Unions (NABTU). BCC Craft Professionals are affiliated with the Building Trades Union corresponding to their skilled trade and perform work across a range of construction and industrial projects.  

BCC is currently sourcing potential candidates for the Natrium Project in Kemmerer, Wyoming. The Project will consist of a 345MWe nuclear power plant based on Natrium technology. Submitted information will be shared with the appropriate Building Trades Union Hall, which will contact qualified craft professionals based on project needs.   

Job Summary  

Project Location: Kemmerer, Wyoming  

Base Wage: $54.18 / Hour   

PLUS PENSION, HEALTH AND WELFARE 

*Wages are determined through collective bargaining agreements.   

Per Diem: $ (pending) / per (pending)

Responsibilities:  

Position: Journey Level Ironworker (Rebar)

• Set up hoisting equipment to raise and place structural steel members.
• Fasten steel members to cables or hoists using chains, cables, or ropes.
• Signal operators of hoisting equipment to lift, position, and place steel members.
• Guide steel members into position using tag lines or by riding the load when required.
• Pull, push, or pry steel members into approximate position while supported by hoisting devices.
• Force members into final position using turnbuckles, crowbars, hammers, and hand tools.
• Align holes in steel members using drift pins or wrench handles.
• Verify vertical and horizontal alignment using plumb bobs and levels.
• Bolt members temporarily until permanently bolted or welded.
• Cut and weld steel members using oxygen/acetylene torches and welding equipment.
• Erect structural steel frameworks using hoists and cranes.
• Read and interpret blueprints to determine locations of structural components.
• Determine the number, size, shape, and placement of reinforcing steel from blueprints, sketches, or instructions.
• Select, cut, bend, and place reinforcing rods in concrete forms using wire, pliers, rebar cutters, torches, and bending equipment.
• Space, tie, and secure reinforcing steel and wire mesh to reinforce concrete structures.
• Weld reinforcing bars using arc welding equipment as required.
• Ensure reinforcing materials are properly positioned to achieve intended structural load requirements.
• Assemble, inspect, and use rigging components including cables, ropes, pulleys, winches, blocks, and sheaves.
• Attach loads to cranes using appropriate rigging devices such as slings, chains, and hooks.
• Direct hoisting and rigging operations using standard hand signals or communication devices to ensure safety.
• Comply with all safety, quality, and work procedures.

• Meet minimum color discrimination requirements.
• Work for extended periods in hot or cold environments.
• Pass required physical examinations, including respirator fit testing and asbestos screening, as applicable.
• Work all scheduled hours.
