Critical Care Nurse Practitioner - CVICU
MedStar Union Memorial Hospital | Baltimore, Maryland
MedStar Medical Group is seeking a Critical Care Nurse Practitioner to join the CVICU team at MedStar Union Memorial Hospital. Practice within MedStar Union Memorial Hospital, a nationally recognized destination for cardiovascular surgery and a key hospital within the MedStar Heart & Vascular Institute, caring for critically ill cardiovascular surgery patients with meaningful autonomy in a collaborative, well-supported multidisciplinary environment.
** This position includes a competitive base salary, annual incentive, and sign-on bonus! **
Position Highlights
  • Practice within an 8-bed Cardiovascular Intensive Care Unit (CVICU)
  • Care for critically ill patients following complex cardiovascular and thoracic surgical procedures
  • Perform comprehensive critical care assessments and patient management
  • Perform advanced bedside procedures, including intubation, ventilator management, central and arterial line placement, dialysis catheter insertion, chest tubes, and thoracentesis
  • Flexible scheduling with a day/night rotating schedule or dedicated nocturnist position
  • Combination of 12- and 24-hour shifts
  • Collaborative team of 10 APPs and 6 physicians
  • Practice with a high degree of autonomy utilizing cutting-edge technology

Qualifications
  • Graduate of an accredited AGACNP program
  • Current BLS and ACLS
  • Board certified or board eligible
  • Maryland licensure (or eligibility)
  • Minimum of one year of Advanced Practice Provider experience in an ICU, CVICU, Cardiac Surgery, Cardiology or Critical Care setting required.
  • New graduates are not eligible for this position
