A union framer’s daily responsibilities generally include measuring, cutting, and assembling wood or metal framing for walls, floors, and roofs according to blueprints and building codes. They often collaborate closely with other tradespeople, such as electricians and plumbers, to ensure framing accommodates systems installations. What is union framing?

Union framing refers to the construction of the structural framework of buildings, such as walls, floors, and roofs, by carpenters who are members of a labor union. These workers follow union regulations, receive standardized wages and benefits, and often work on commercial projects or large residential developments. Union framers are trained professionals who ensure the integrity and safety of the building's skeleton. Their work is essential for supporting the rest of the construction process and complying with building codes.
