Job description

Overview
It is the responsibility of the Carpenter is to build and repair carpentry related items throughout the property. This position must also exhibit a high level of professional and personalized guest service that embodies the Company's brand standard and core values (K.E.E.P. - Kindness, Engagement, Empathy and Positivity).
Responsibilities
  • Must have five years Carpentry Shop experience. Maintenance carpentry, cabinetry, furniture, build and repair.
  • Create shop drawings, general hotel room repair and maintenance.
  • Hang artwork, hang signage, finish carpentry, brass, plastics, laminate, commercial door hardware, moldings, adhesives.
  • Must be able to operate hand tools, and any related carpentry equipment. Must provide all hand tools necessary.
  • Miscellaneous carpentry repair throughout the property.
  • Perform other duties and responsibilities as requested. Work overtime weekends and holidays.
  • Assist other trades when necessary.

Qualifications
To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform the duties and responsibilities satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required.
  • Analytical, problem solving, multi-tasking, organization and prioritization skills.
  • Good interpersonal and communication skills (verbal and written), fluent English and articulate.
  • Ability to work efficiently, independently and cohesively, consistently producing quality results.
  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • 5 years Journeyman Carpentry experience.
  • Minimum age requirement is 21.
  • Must possess basic mathematical skills to include ability to add, subtract, multiply and divide specific to position responsibilities.
  • Ability to read and understand all policies and procedures.
  • Must be able to communicate effectively with guests, employees, and members of management in English, specific to position duties and responsibilities.
  • Must be able to complete standard forms and reports.
