Job description

Teacher’s Aide – Head Start 
Union County Community Action, Inc.
Work Location- Morven Elementary, Morven, Anson County NC

UCCA is seeking dedicated Teacher’s Aides to support classroom teachers in providing high-quality early childhood education services toddlers and preschool-aged children.
Starting Rate:  $14 per hour
Schedule: Monday–Friday 7am-3pm  (40 hours/week)

Key Responsibilities
  • Assist teachers with classroom activities and supervision
  • Support children’s developmental and educational needs
  • Help maintain classroom records and documentation
  • Assist with classroom organization and cleanliness
  • Supervise children during classroom and outdoor activities
  • Support family engagement and communication
Qualifications
  • High School Diploma or GED required
  • EDU 119 or CDA Credential preferred
  • Experience working with young children preferred
  • CPR and First Aid certification required or ability to obtain
  • Strong communication and teamwork skills
  • Valid driver’s license required
  • Must pass a pre-employment physical, drug screening and TB test, and must submit to random drug screenings.

Physical Demands
Must be able to actively assist with classroom activities, supervise children in indoor and outdoor environments, and occasionally lift or move up to 50 pounds.
