Your Opportunity
Your role will be a Construction Inspection Office Engineer for the Maryland Transportation Authority (MDTA) located at the William William Preston Lane Jr. Memorial Bridge in Anne Arundel County, Maryland. This Office Engineer supports several construction contracts performing repairs on the bridge and roadway approaches. The assignment will be full time in the MDTA office in Stevensville, MD. A
Your Key Responsibilities
  • Review inspection daily reports (IDRs) prepared by the construction inspectors for consistency, accuracy, and completeness.
  • Work with eMCMS by managing IDRs and creating monthly estimates for payment.
  • Assist construction inspectors with the preparation of MOT permits.
  • Submit and obtain MOT permits.
  • Assist and obtain State Police Troopers for projects on interstates requiring lane closures.
  • Review construction work orders prepared by design engineers for completeness and log them into the SIRE tracking program (Worklist).
  • Obtain weekly reports from the construction inspectors on-site and update the Worklist to include progress and costs.
  • Prepare progress reports for the managers.

Qualifications
Your Capabilities and Credentials
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Strong multi-tasking skills with the ability to prioritize and organize multiple concurrent assignments.
  • Ability to work effectively under pressure in a fast-paced environment.
  • Must be willing and able to take initiative when needed.
  • Ability to deal with difficult situations and/or people.
  • Must have valid driver's license and good driving record.
  • Proficiency in MS Office Suite, and
  • Microsoft Office 365 and Microsoft Project experience a plus.

Education and Experience
  • High School Diploma.
  • Experience with eMCMS preferred.

Position will primarily work in an office setting; may require some field work.

About the Team
Pay Transparency: In compliance with pay transparency laws, pay ranges are provided for positions in locations where required. Please note, the final agreed upon compensation is based on individual education, qualifications, experience, and work location. At Stantec certain roles are bonus eligible. Actual compensation for part-time roles will be pro-rated based on the agreed number of working hours per week.
