Description

The Senior Systems Engineer Cloud & Linux is responsible for the design, engineering, implementation and ongoing maintenance and support of a complex corporate infrastructure. This role provides technical leadership across multiple cloud platforms, including Azure and AWS, leveraging deep expertise to ensure robust and scalable solutions. Key responsibilities include troubleshooting, analyzing, resolution and documentation of service impacting events, including but not limited to, recommendation and implementation of approved solutions to ensure high availability and reliability. The engineer will also research, evaluate and recommend cloud services and tools to enhance system performance and operational efficiency.ย

Job Duties

  • Proactively maintain, monitor, and support the infrastructure environment, recommending enhancements to improve performance and reliability
  • Monitor systems to identify and resolve performance issues, and prepare regular status reviews and reports
  • Lead or contribute to the development of low-level architecture design
  • Create and maintain comprehensive documentation for all system builds, configuration, and modifications
  • Deploy application and systems across complex Cloud and on-premise environments
  • Partner with IT support teams toย  perform root cause analysis and identify solutions
  • Participate in after-hours systems implementations as needed
  • Continuously adjust systems to optimize system performance and functionality
  • Collect and publish IT metrics and use data to make process improvement recommendations
  • Document and implement system change control in response to organizational policy changes and scheduled implementations
  • Provide 24/7 support through a rotating on-call schedule, adhering to defined service level expectations
  • Routinely collaborate with and mentor fellow engineers and administrators, promoting innovation and continuous improvement in technology practicesย 

Essential Skillsย 

  • Minimum 5 yearsโ€™ experience in providing systems support for complex on-premise and Cloud environments
  • Experience leading in the engineering of enterprise-wide Linux server environments
  • Experience with enterprise server and datacenter technologies
  • Experience with recovery methodologies and technologies supporting an enterprise-wide environment
  • Experience in engineering with enterprise AWS and/or Azure Cloud is strongly preferred
  • Strong knowledge of IT infrastructure, data networks, virtualization, IT security, web servers and storage technologies
  • Ability to effectively prioritize tasks, effectively handling a variety of responsibilities
  • Strong business communication skills; able to write/speak clearly and professionally for a variety of audiences
  • Ability to establish and maintain strong relationships with internal stakeholdersย 
  • Analytical and problem-solving skills; ability to resolve complex issues with minimal direction
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite and Microsoft 365 applications
  • Minimum Education: Bachelorโ€™s degree in Computer Science or Information Systems is preferred
  • Certification/License: AWS and/or Azure Cloud certifications preferred

Location:ย Hillsboro, OR 97124 | Marlborough, MA 01752 | (HYBRID)

Target Compensation:ย $116,500 - $140k annually + annual bonus
