Description

Evergreen Armored, a subsidiary company of Maps Credit Union, seeks a full-time Vault Processor to provide efficient, timely, and accurate processing of cash and coin currency and other valuables on behalf of Credit Unions and Financial Institutions for their Kent, Washington branch. The ideal candidate has prior experience with cash handling and is accurate, detail oriented, and a team player. ย This position reports to the Evergreen Branch Manager and works closely alongside a Currency Logistics Coordinator.

Key responsibilities include:


General Operations

  • Ensuring custody, control, and security of vault at all times.
  • Receive, verify, document, and account for vault items.
  • Maintain inventory of vault items.
  • Accurately prepare and process all vault transactions, including but not limited to Federal Reserve shipments and customer accounts per Federal Reserve guidelines.
  • Responsible for distribution and receipts of moneybags, receipts, route keys.
  • Maintenance of all records in an organized, detailed manner.
  • Accurately able to process bulk cash inventory and coin change orders.
  • Perform bank audit requirements.
  • Ensure all inventories are in balance at the close of business daily.
  • Perform accurate check-in and check-out of routes.
  • Perform operational tasks with an increased level of authority, including maintaining the cash and coin vaults; opening and closing the facility.
  • Maintain operational knowledge by staying informed of policies and procedures.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Security and Compliance

  • Follow regulatory and policy compliance requirements, which include those efforts in compliance with the Federal Reserve Bank, Bank Secrecy Act (BSA), Office of Foreign Asset Control (OFAC) and Anti-Money Laundering (AML) Regulations, Identity Theft Red Flags and other compliance related policies.
  • Maintain confidentiality and protect Evergreen operations by keeping negotiable instruments, cash, keys and member and/or Financial Institution information secure at all times.

Professional Knowledge and Development

  • Maintain workflow by cooperating with co-workers and providing necessary information to the appropriate people.
  • Enhance job performance by applying up-to-date professional and technical knowledge gained by attending training sessions and reviewing professional publications.
  • Participate in developing strategies for achieving logistic and customer goals.

WORKING CONDITIONS:

Work areas are inside, in a climate-controlled room with no outside windows, coin machines produce heavy background noise, but hearing protection is provided. Position involves exposure to potentially hazardous conditions, e.g., robbery. Position may require extended hours (applies to full-time and part-time schedules).

Requirements

PHYSICAL ACTIVITIES REQUIRED TO PERFORM ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

Sitting/Standing/Walking: Approximately 80% of the time is spent standing or moving around work areas. Balance of time (approximately 20%) is spent seated while working at a desk area.

Speaking/Hearing: Clear diction and acute hearing are necessary for effective communication with co-workers, members, and outside agencies, by telephone and in person.

Vision: Corrected vision close to 20/20 is necessary to use computers, handheld scanners effectively, and interpret written information.

Lifting/Carrying/Pushing/Pulling: The ability to lift and carry up to fifty pounds is necessary for transporting currency and/or cargo.

Stooping/Kneeling: The ability to stoop and kneel is necessary for accessing vault and currency.

Reaching/Handling: Good manual dexterity is necessary for computer keyboard use and for retrieving and working with appropriate paperwork, equipment, and supplies.


KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES REQUIRED:

  1. Excellent written and oral communication skills. Ability to communicate effectively and project a professional image when giving and taking information in writing, in person, over the phone, and via computer or other electronic means.
  2. Ability to effectively establish rapport, present information, and respond to questions from customers and the general public. Skill and ability to meet people and listen.
  3. Ability to read, analyze, and interpret operational documents, policies, and regulations.
  4. Ability to take the initiative and prioritize tasks; good-time management, problem-prevention, and problem-solving skills.
  5. Accurate typing/keyboarding skills; basic computer skills, including the use of word processing software applications and e-mail.
  6. Strong organizational skills.
  7. Ability to remain flexible in order to adapt to changes in the work environment.
  8. Ability to work accurately with close attention to detail.
  9. Ability to maintain the confidentiality of sensitive information.
  10. Ability to work with co-workers and members professionally and tactfully.
  11. Possess a work ethic that includes neatness, punctuality, and accuracy.
  12. Exhibit a professional, businesslike appearance and demeanor.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  1. High School diploma or equivalent.
  2. At least 21 years of age.
  3. Minimum of two years of experience in the financial industry, sales and service, security, or the equivalent combination of training and experience.
  4. Minimum of two years of cash handling.
  5. Strong knowledge of Currency Processing and Bank Operation for processing procedures is preferred.
  6. Requires the availability to work Monday - Friday and occasional Saturday hours.
  7. Must be bondable.

Standard Schedule: Monday - Friday, business hours. ย Typical shifts are 8-hours per day and 7:00am - 4:00pm, with some scheduling flexibility available.ย 


The full non-exempt salary range for this position is $26.71 - $40.06 per hour. ย Starting pay will depend on relevant experience and internal pay equity.ย
