ABOUT THE ROLE:
We are looking for a Branch Assistant Manager, Branch Operations, who is driven to make a positive impact on the employee and member experience. The Branch Assistant Manager will manage the day-to-day operations of a retail branch. Focus areas include effective branch member flow, engaging in community outreach, executing on member experience expectations, developing and implementing appropriate business and risk management considerations, demonstrating accountability for the same, and supporting the development of team members so they can perform optimally and drive business success. This is an exciting opportunity to bring forth new ideas and see those ideas come to life!
WHAT YOU WILL DO:
  • Must be proficient in all Teller, Member Consultant and Senior Member Consultant job functions, duties and responsibilities; serves as back-up branch manager as needed.
  • Demonstrates ownership and accountability for branch operations and performance results.
  • Facilitates all required branch audits and diligently completes required tasks.
  • Effectively manages daily branch operations and optimal lobby traffic flow.
  • Creates an environment in which teammates have sufficient information to deliver exceptional service by providing products and services that meet members' needs; provides clear and transparent direction to employees regarding task and performance expectations.
  • Ensures appropriate consultation and engagement of existing and new members so all teller/new account/loan needs are met.
  • Acts as the first point of escalation for complex service situations.
  • Achieves or exceeds sales and service goals; ensures accountability for branch and individual results.
  • Builds and shares knowledge to ensure all SCU business lines are appropriately supported at the branch level; makes recommendations to best cross-collaborate among teams.
  • Engages in a manner with members and teammates that demonstrate care, appreciation, and respect.
  • Actively contributes and participates in the hiring process under the direction of the Branch Manager.
  • Proactively identifies opportunities to increase efficiency and/or leverage automation in daily tasks.
  • Mentor, coach, develop and train branch employees.
  • Responsible for the branch in the absence of the Branch Manager.
  • Demonstrates a commitment to SCU Values.
  • Maintains attendance and punctuality expectations.
  • Other duties as assigned.

WHAT YOU WILL BRING:
Basic Qualifications:
  • Associate degree in business or related field, or combination of education and experience equivalent.
  • Three (3)+ years of experience in a high transaction, retail banking environment.
  • One (1)+ year of experience in a team setting, coaching or leading others.
  • Comprehensive knowledge of the state and federal regulations such as Reg. B, Reg. E, Reg. D, Reg. CC, Reg. Z, and the Bank Secrecy Act.
  • Exceptional interpersonal and communication skills with the ability to inspire and motivate others.
  • Progressive thinker with excellent problem-solving and decision-making abilities.
  • Proficiency in using banking software and digital tools.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Visio)

Preferred Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree in business or related field
  • Experience within a Credit Union.
  • One (1)+ year as a people manager.
  • Fluent in Spanish.
  • Notary Certificate.
  • ITIN Certified.
  • Medallion Certified.

Working Conditions:
  • This is an in-branch role in the Greater Seattle area of Washington State. We serve members all days of the week except Sunday and limited hours on Saturday.
  • Team members may attend special off-hour meetings and seminars.
  • The nature of work may include prolonged periods sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
