JOB OVERVIEW

We are seeking an Advisor, Software Architect supporting the FS Core Infra Services Application Landscape.  

This role provides strategic architectural leadership across cloud and data center environments, ensuring platforms are secure, reliable, and scalable by design. You will unify architecture, engineering, security, and operations to create end to end infrastructure solutions aligned with business and technology objectives. A key focus of this role is applying modern reliability engineering and observability principles to strengthen monitoring, alerting, incident readiness, operational workflows, and platform security governance. This includes leveraging AWS, Azure, Datadog, ServiceNow, and open source technologies to enhance platform design and operational maturity.

You will partner with Development, Platform Engineering, Architecture, and business stakeholders to guide solution implementation, deliver performance insights, and support cohesive enterprise integrations. By embedding reliability, automation, and architectural best practices into platform design, you will improve system availability, resilience, and overall digital experience. The role also includes consultative engagement, demand intake, and acting as a liaison between technology teams and business stakeholders to ensure the delivery of high quality, dependable infrastructure services.
 

RESPONSIBILITIES

Strategic Architecture, Demand Management, & Technical Leadership
    Own cross-functional demand intake, prioritization, and architectural guidance across cloud, cybersecurity, and reliability initiatives. 
    Drive predictable and aligned delivery supporting business priorities, financial constraints, and enterprise strategy. 
    Apply architectural standards, Agile/Scrum, and reliability principles to guide execution and reduce delivery risk. 
    Provide architectural consulting, solution patterns, reference designs, and technical onboarding for new initiatives. 
    Partner with Development, Operations, Security, and Enterprise Architecture to ensure secure and reliable solution outcomes.

Site Reliability Engineering, Cloud Architecture & Cybersecurity
    Lead the architectural strategy for resilient, scalable, and secure platforms across AWS and Azure.
    Define, track, and enforce SLOs, SLIs, availability targets, and performance metrics.
    Embed reliability engineering principles into platform design, including SLOs, SLIs, error budgets, and resilience patterns. 
    Provide architectural leadership during major incidents, root cause investigations, and problem management cycles (without taking on day to day ops ownership). 
    Define cloud reference architectures, landing zones, security frameworks, and infrastructure patterns. 
    Integrate cybersecurity controls (IAM, PAM, network security, policy enforcement) into all platform designs. 
    Conduct cloud readiness, migration evaluations, and architectural risk assessments with mitigation planning.

DevOps, Automation, Platform Engineering & Operational Excellence
    Drive adoption of DevOps tooling, CI/CD pipelines, Infrastructure-as-Code, and automated deployment workflows.
    Reduce operational complexity by driving architectural automation of repeatable engineering and support workflows.
    Implement monitoring, logging, and alerting for real-time visibility and proactive issue detection.
    Lead IT operations governance, cost optimization, and platform efficiency initiatives.
    Execute right-sourcing, platform consolidation, license optimization, and modernization strategies.
    Perform capacity planning and resource forecasting to support long-term platform growth.
    Provide or oversee 247 production support to ensure high availability and operational integrity.

Business Partner Engagement & Consulting
    Serve as the primary architectural and technical strategy contact for infrastructure related business needs. 
    Manage consulting engagement, demand handling, and requirements shaping with business stakeholders. 
    Facilitate coordination with engineering teams and vendors to ensure cohesive delivery of architectural solutions. 
    Provide expert advisory services on technology modernization, infrastructure capabilities, and portfolio roadmap alignment.
 

QUALIFICATIONS
Education: 
    Bachelor's Degree (accredited school)
    Computer/Information Science
    Information Technology
    Engineering
    Management Information System (MIS)
Candidates who have following certifications is preferred:
    AWS/Azure certification
    SAFe Agile certification
Must have 5 years (total) experience in the following:
    Strong understanding of SRE principles
    Experience in Datadog, Splunk, AppDynamics or any other Observability tools
    Hands-on experience in AWS /Azure
    Agile Software Development Expert
    Expertise with cloud monitoring and management systems
    Experience with cloud security principles and best practices
    Expertise in DevOps tools Jenkins, Git, confluence, Jira, ServiceNow
    IT Infrastructure Library (ITIL)
    Containerized environments such as Docker and Kubernetes
    Foundational experience in IT Security
    Migration from traditional on premise to cloud
    Infrastructure as a Code (Biceps, ARM templates)
