Overview

The Insurance Coordinator ’s primary responsibility is to facilitate the patient’s office experience in being seamless and ensure the patient leaves well informed and prepared for their next appointment. This includes ensuring the patient understands their treatment plan, insurance benefits, assisting with financial arrangements, etc.

Duties/Responsibilities

  • Provide a smooth and seamless patient check-in/check-out.
  • Answer patients’ questions and assist with intake forms.
  • Responsible for insurance verifications, claims follow-up, and accurate communication to staff and patients regarding the insurance coverage.
  • Assist patient with financial arrangements.
  • Phone coverage: answering phone calls, confirming appointments.
  • Additional duties as assigned by the Practice Leader.

Required Skills/Abilities

  • Dental insurance/billing knowledge required.
  • Eaglesoft experience highly preferred
  • Proficiency with CDT Coding required
  • Ability to maintain and ensure HIPPA compliance
  • Must exhibit outstanding customer service.
  • Superior communication skills with the ability to quickly establish rapport and work closely with patients and staff.
  • Highly flexible, detail-oriented, reliable, and trustworthy..

Education and Experience

  • Minimum 1 year of experience in a dental office setting.

Physical Requirements

  • Prolonged periods sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
  • Prolonged periods of periods of standing and bending.
  • Must be able to lift <15 pounds at times.
