Description
POSITION TITLE: Tank Testing Technician
DEPARTMENT: MVI Field Services
REPORTS TO: Regional Compliance Specialist & Regional Compliance Manager
DESCRIPTION: The successful applicant will be trained to perform annual testing on underground storage tanks, its piping, and components in accordance with Federal, State, and other applicable Regulations, as well as within client requirements. Represent and promote MVI Field Services in a courteous and cordial manner, building client confidence and maximum efficiency for the business.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
  • Ability to drive and maintain company service truck. This includes a clean driving record and the ability to store a company vehicle at your home
  • Ability to travel (company absorbs travel expenses)
  • Must complete a pre-employment drug test, physical, and background check.
  • Be in possession of a valid U.S. driver's license
  • Remain current on State and Federal EPA USTS requirements
  • Perform annual testing on Underground Storage Tank Systems (USTS) and fuel facilities for compliance with UST regulatory requirements
  • Replace components and parts such as decals, gaskets, riser caps and manway covers, etc.
  • Maintain company vehicles and equipment in good operating condition, including having vehicle serviced for preventative maintenance
  • Keep abreast of changes to equipment manufactures specifications and State UST Regulations
  • Develop a working knowledge of client Underground Storage Tank Systems (USTS) components
  • Responsible for following company expense policy and submitting all itemized receipts for expenses by the 7th of each month
  • Submit all reports timely and accurately, including monthly schedules and expenses in the appropriate software systems

MARGINAL FUNCTIONS:
  • Ability to understand and follow instructions in English
  • Ability to lift up to 70 pounds
  • Ability to follow strict safety and technical protocols
  • Must be able to kneel, stand, lean, bend and/or sit, and climb a ladder while working
  • Ability to work outdoors and in various weather conditions
  • Basic computer skills, and ability to navigate applications on Smart Phones
  • Previous maintenance experience preferred
  • Experience using handheld tools
  • Must be able and willing to work in an outdoor environment.
  • Eligible to work in the United States
  • Maintain a professional appearance including wearing company-provided attire
  • Maintain a friendly and positive attitude with client representatives

EXPECTATIONS:
  • Inspectors are expected to thoroughly inspect all sites on the assigned route within the assigned timeframe
