Company Description


MMI Tank & Industrial Services (MMI) is a full-turnkey industrial contractor serving clients in major markets across North America. Based in Phoenix, AZ, MMI has built a reputation for exceeding customer expectations through our commitment to safety, quality, and customer service. MMI specializes in engineering and design, fabrication, shop blast and prime, tank foundations, tank field erection, and field coating.


We seek highly skilled welders and experienced storage tank erectors to join our team. You should be competent in using potentially dangerous equipment, follow all safety precautions, and have great attention to detail-knowledge of working with various materials to fabricate and assemble quality tanks.


Tank Welder's responsibilities:

  • Compliance with company procedures and policies.
  • Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and blueprints.
  • Prepare the appropriate welding methods and equipment based on requirements.
  • Perform welding tasks on storage tanks, including a variety of welding techniques.
  • Manual and semi-automatic welding equipment can be used in various positions to weld components.
  • Check welded surfaces and structures for flaws by testing and inspecting them.
  • Knowledge of tank erection tools: key plates, bull pins, u-bars, strong backs, hammers, and grinders
  • Ability to climb ladders, stairs, scaffolding up to heights of 60 ft. and lift to 50lbs
  • Working at heights and in confined spaces.
  • Working in heat and cold weather.
  • Hands-on experience in welding and fabricating storage tanks: hanging steel, working with tank fit-up tools/equipment, jumping scaffolding, and grinding.
  • Adhere to all safety guidelines and regulations to ensure the working environment.
  • Maintain welding equipment, troubleshoot issues, and perform routine maintenance.
  • Strong attention to detail and quality craftsmanship
  • Proficiency in working with different materials

Requirements:

  • Must pass 2G/3G/4G weld test in Flux Core (FCAW) and Stick (SMAW).
  • Eligible to work in the US with a valid driver's license
  • Must pass a pre-employment / random alcohol and drug screens.
  • Travel to job sites across the country is required (75%).
  • Effective communication and teamwork skills to collaborate with colleagues and support overall project objectives.
  • A team-oriented and can-do attitude is a must.
