Your Key Responsibilities
  • Participate the development of underground mining studies ranging in level of detail
  • Provide expert mine planning support using your operations experience and Deswik Mine Planning software
  • Support due diligence and technical audits
  • Act as peer reviewer of drawings, specifications, mine planning, and technical reports
  • Support the development of capital and operating cost estimates
  • Lead project teams performing trade-off and optimization studies including but not limited to mine access, material handling, ventilation, and mining methods
  • Domestic and International travel with the possibility of extended stays may be required.

Qualifications
Your Capabilities and Credentials
  • Strong understanding of various underground hard rock mining methods and mine systems.
  • Caving experience is plus
  • Experience with implementation of new technologies
  • Proficiency in Deswik Software Suite (CAD, Sched, IS, SO)
  • Proficiency in compiling and presenting data (PowerBI, Excel, PowerPoint)
  • Strong communication and critical thinking skills
  • Experience in working on a team of multiple engineering disciplines
  • Be a driver of safety in your project work and onsite
  • Promote a positive and collaborative work culture

Education and Experience
  • 4+ years of relevant industry experience
  • Degree in Mining Engineering or equivalent from a recognized post-secondary institution
  • Operations experience in underground hard rock mining is required
  • Experience in building new projects from the ground up in Deswik mine planning applications is required
  • Professional Engineer or SME Registered Member is a plus.

Typical office environment working with computers. Field work may include exposure to the elements including inclement weather.
