Job description

The School of Arts and Sciences seeks an adjunct Chemistry Lab Assistant to supportthe undergraduate Chemistry teaching labs. We are seeking a candidate who is curious about chemistry, loves organizing, and is looking to acquire laboratory skills for future internships to join our team.

  • Assist in the running of the undergraduate teaching labs as directed by the Lab Manager and Head Instructors
  • Clean laboratory benches and balances
  • Stock gloves
  • Fill DI water bottles
  • Make copies
  • Clean glassware
  • Check drawers to make sure equipment is placed back in the correct drawer
  • Other duties as assigned
  • Exhibit teamwork, friendliness, and approachability
  • Demonstrate a desire to learn more about what goes on to prepare the labs for 600+ students
  • Organize and inventory equipment in drawers in the pods
  • Replace equipment/glassware that is lost or broken
  • Label bottles for reagents prepared by Lab Manager
  • Demonstrate attention to detail
  • Punctuality is required

We are seeking a candidate that is eager to learn more about chemistry, engage with lab instructors, work independently and in a timely manner on laboratory tasks.
