Job description

University of North Carolina at Charlotte

Program Length: 6-8 weeks in the summer (June โ€“ July)

Location: UNC Charlotte, Center for Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics (STEM) Education in Charlotte, NC

Admissions Requirements:

  • Applicants must be Permanent US Residents
  • Must reside around the UNC Charlotte Location
  • Must apply through the AEOP portal
  • Ideally, it is recommended students have taken courses in chemistry, biology, algebra I, and II.
  • If selected, applicants must be available to attend the mandatory in-person orientation early to mid June
  • If selected, applicants must commit to being on campus from 8:30 to 4 pm daily.

Highlight: Are you a student that wants to venture into a world of research? If so, the UNC High School STEM summer research program may fit you! This in-person research program in partnership with the AEOP, integrates innovation with impact, aiming to stimulate curious minds to encourage the pursuit of education and/or careers in STEM. As a participant in this research program, you will gain experience in pursuing research in a STEM topic of interest speicfied by the paired facility mentor, collaborate with skilled mentors and peers at UNC Charlotte, and gain hands-on experience in ground-breaking research across the STEM field, with an opportunity to publish your research at the end of the program.As a partner of AEOP, this program provides additional funding and opportunities aimed at encouraging STEM students from underrepresented populations.
