We're looking for a Business Affairs Lead to join our team, supporting teams across the US, LatAm and the EU. This role will lead negotiations with record labels and artist management in support of our original content video productions and exclusive artist merchandising offerings. The Business Affairs Lead will work cross-functionally with internal teams such as Legal, Finance, Production and Business Development, to define and revise deal terms as needed throughout the negotiation process.
The Business Affairs Specialist will have work experience in a content acquisition, business development, or related role in the music industry. Extensive knowledge of sound recording rights, sync rights and/or music publishing licensing are strongly preferred.
Key job responsibilities
- Lead licensing negotiations to secure applicable rights from record labels and artists, and expand existing agreements as needed
- Collaborate with the legal team to create and review contractual terms to address licensing and business needs
- Develop and maintain strong relationships with key record labels, promoters and artist representatives
- Perform analysis to quantify the impact of royalty rates and other terms
- Audit business metrics and processes, perform deep dive analysis on problems to understand root causes and make decisions supported by data
- Monitor the competitive landscape to help inform Amazon Music's strategy
BASIC QUALIFICATIONS
- 6+ years of entertainment industry deal negotiation experience
- Experience negotiating complex agreements with a firm understanding of legal terminology and reasoning
- Experience in content negotiation, acquisition or business development
- Experience working independently with minimal supervision, or experience that includes strong analytical skills, attention to detail, and effective communication abilities
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
- J.D., or MBA
- Experience in writing detailed and data-supported documents
- Experience working for a music label or working for a digital service in music licensing

The base salary range for this position is listed below. Your Amazon package will include sign-on payments and restricted stock units (RSUs). Final compensation will be determined based on factors including experience, qualifications, and location.
