The Role:
The Music Department at Central Washington University invites qualified applicants for the position of Lecturer of Trumpet, beginning Fall 2026. Job responsibilities include teaching Applied Trumpet for Music major students, coaching brass chamber music, and other courses/subject areas subject to expertise within the Jazz, Theory, and History areas. The ideal candidate for this position is collegial, engaged, and creative colleague who possesses a dedication to the field of Trumpet as well as commitment to the community.
Minimum Qualifications

  • Master's degree in Trumpet Performance or related field
  • University teaching experience
  • Demonstrated excellence in teaching
  • Teaching, research, service or other experience that has prepared the candidate to contribute to CWU's commitment to the engagement of students from a variety of backgrounds

  • DMA or PhD in Applied Trumpet Performance or related field
  • Scholarship/creative activities interests

Pay & Work Schedule
Annual Salary : $45,000 - $60,000, based on a full-time nine-month appointment.
In accordance with RCW 49.58.110, the above salary reflects the full salary range for this position. Individual placement within the range is based on the candidate's current experience, education, skills, and abilities related to the position.
Appointment: Temporary, Non-Tenure-Track, 9 Month Appointment. Additional Summer teaching may be available. Central Washington University is on the quarter system with appointments from mid-September through mid-June.
