Job description

About the Position

Ensemble Schools is seeking a fun, experienced, and professional strings & woodwinds substitute teacher to teach part-time at Natomas School of Music, our Natomas, Sacramento, CA location. We are looking for teachers who will instruct IN PERSON! The ability to teach additional instruments is a plus (especially piano, guitar, drums, and/or ukulele).

Teachers can set their availability within our open hours as needed, but both students and school staff appreciate consistency and preference will be given to candidates with greater availability. Substitutes are called on an as-needed basis when regular teachers are unable to teach their students and have the ability to take on their own regular students as student demand allows.

Successful candidates will have a strong music background evidenced by a degree in performance, pedagogy, or equivalent performing experience, a demonstrated love of teaching, experience working with young musicians, a robust appreciation for punctuality, reliable transportation, and the ability to pass a routine background check.

Instructor pay is commensurate with experience and will be in the range of $27-29/hour. A 401(K) program with employer matching is available to all of our employees after 30 days on the job. Health benefits options are available to all part- and full-time employees.
