Description
Spatial Front, Inc. (SFI), a two-time USA Today Top Workplaces awardee and Washington Top Workplaces honoree, is seeking a PeopleSoft HCM Tester to join our team. The ideal candidate will perform hands-on functional, regression, integration, interface, and batch testing within a complex PeopleSoft HCM environment in a secure federal setting. This role focuses on test execution, automation development, defect analysis, and close collaboration with development and business teams to ensure high-quality system performance and reliable releases. The position requires experience with UFT (or similar automation tools), familiarity with PeopleSoft Test Framework (PTF), and exposure to Tricentis as a potential future toolset. As part of the SFI team, you will play a key role in maintaining and improving a mission-critical system supporting federal operations.
Location: On-site in Arlington, VA
Key Responsibilities

  • Execute functional, regression, integration, interface, and end-to-end testing for PeopleSoft HCM enhancements, defect fixes, patches, releases, and production support activities.
  • Develop, maintain, and execute detailed test cases, test scripts, and test data across business processes, interfaces, security, batch jobs, and reports.
  • Perform automated testing using UFT, including building and maintaining stable, reusable test assets for key business and technical workflows.
  • Develop and enhance automated test scripts using PeopleSoft Test Framework (PTF), including reusable tests, variables, and data-driven validation techniques.
  • Conduct regression testing across PeopleSoft HCM components, including pages, prompts, grids, Process Scheduler jobs, queries, interfaces, and end-to-end transactions.
  • Validate batch processing, inbound/outbound interfaces, file feeds, security updates, reports, and system integrations.
  • Review logs, system messages, interface results, and backend data to identify issues and support troubleshooting and root-cause analysis.
  • Document and track defects with clear reproduction steps, evidence, and impact analysis; retest fixes as needed.
  • Collaborate with developers, business analysts, functional teams, and environment support teams to validate requirements, troubleshoot issues, and ensure release quality.
  • Support test environment readiness, including account setup, connectivity checks, test data preparation, smoke testing, and deployment validation.
  • Contribute to test automation standards, reusable assets, regression test suites, and continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Participate in the evaluation of additional tools, such as Tricentis, for expanded automation and test management capabilities.
  • Maintain accurate test documentation, execution results, and traceability to support auditability and release reporting.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Information Systems, or a related field; equivalent experience may be considered.
  • 3+ years of software QA/testing experience supporting enterprise applications, with strong hands-on execution of test cases and release validation.
  • Strong experience testing PeopleSoft HCM applications, including online processing, interfaces, batch jobs, reports, and end-to-end business workflows.
  • Hands-on experience with UFT is preferred; experience with PeopleSoft Test Framework (PTF) is a plus, and familiarity with Tricentis is also a plus.
  • Ability to design, create, and execute test scripts; analyze defects; validate system behavior; and compare expected vs. actual results using structured testing methods.
  • Experience reviewing logs, test evidence, interface outputs, and backend data; SQL or query-based validation experience is preferred.
  • Must be a U.S. Citizen.
  • Must possess an active Secret clearance or be eligible to obtain one.
Desired Skills
  • Experience performing functional, regression, integration, and interface testing in PeopleSoft HCM within complex enterprise or federal environments.
  • Working knowledge of UFT automation concepts, including object repositories, reusable actions, parameterization, checkpoints, and test maintenance.
  • Experience building or maintaining PeopleSoft Test Framework (PTF) automated test assets and supporting the expansion of test automation coverage.
  • Familiarity with PeopleTools components such as Process Scheduler, Integration Broker, queries, reports, and security testing.
  • Experience with Tricentis tools (e.g., Tosca or qTest) for enterprise test automation or test management initiatives.
  • Experience validating PeopleSoft HCM updates, including patches, PUM images, tax updates, and regression impact analysis.
  • Experience with defect tracking, test evidence documentation, release support, and Agile or iterative delivery environments.
  • Prior experience working in secure federal or DoD environments is preferred.
  • ISTQB or equivalent QA certification is a plus.
