Job Summary

As an API Tester, you will be responsible for validating and testing APIs that connect our recruitment, assessment, and analytics platforms. You will focus on backend integrations, functional correctness, and data security. Your work ensures that all system connections function correctly before new features or integrations are released.
 

Key Responsibilities

  1. Design, develop, and execute test cases for REST and SOAP APIs.
  2. Validate request/response payloads (JSON, XML) for accuracy, reliability, and security.
  3. Conduct functional, load, and security testing of APIs.
  4. Collaborate with developers and product managers to troubleshoot API issues.
  5. Document defects, test results, and provide actionable feedback in a bug tracking system (e.g., Jira, Azure DevOps).
  6. Support API automation efforts using tools like Postman, SoapUI, or RestAssured.
  7. Ensure compliance with data security and industry standards during API testing.


Qualifications & Experience

  1. Degree in Computer Science, IT, or a related field, or demonstrated hands-on experience in API testing, automation, or software quality assurance.
  2. 2+ years of API testing or backend quality assurance experience.
  3. Proficiency with Postman, SoapUI, RestAssured; scripting for automation a plus.
  4. Familiarity with SDLC, Agile/Scrum methodologies, and QA best practices.
  5. Knowledge of SQL databases, authentication protocols (OAuth, JWT), and API documentation tools (Swagger/OpenAPI).
  6. Experience testing within analytics platforms, SaaS, or talent/recruitment technology is preferred.
