Overview
PRN. Varied days.
To provide therapy services and education to patients. To educate other health professionals and students about rehabilitation.
OVERVIEW:
UF Health Therapists provide rehabilitation services in the Acute setting, working to create and customize the best course of treatment for conditions that limit a patient's ability to move, be active, communicate, swallow, and complete daily tasks and activities. Our skilled team strives to maximize physical performance, while addressing cognitive and psychosocial components of care to achieve the best functional outcomes.
This setting offers an array of service areas in three locations in Gainesville, Florida.
The UF Health Heart and Vascular Hospital (HVNM): The East Tower provides care to patients in the following service areas: Cardiac (surgical and non-surgical), Vascular surgery, Thoracic surgery, Heart and Lung Transplant, Neurosurgery, and Neurology
The UF Health Shands Hospital and Shands Children's Hospital (NT): The North Tower provides service to the Adult General Medical /Surgical population on the medical units, IMC and ICU, as well as specialty adult services that include Burn/BICU and ENT/Plastic Surgery. The Shands Children's Hospital is also located in the North Tower and provides service to patients from neonate up to older peds. Units include general pediatrics, NICU, PICU and PCICU.
The UF Health Cancer Hospital and Medical Center (ST): The South Toweroffers not just Cancer and Cancer-related services, but is the main hospital for Orthopedics and Trauma services. The Adult ED, Renal and Liver Transplant, and a surgical ICU are all located in this facility.
Qualifications
QUALIFICATIONS:
Minimum Education and Experience Requirements:
Bachelors or higher as designated by professional license. New graduates welcome. Experience or fieldwork in the acute setting preferred. Demonstrates strong communication skills and ability to collaborate with others and work as a team.
Licensure/Certification/Registration: Licensed Speech Language Pathologist in the State of Florida.
